- Anthony Horrobin Review added: 2017.12.18★ ★ ★ ★ ★If you're looking for a swanky wine bar then Askern Miners Welfare isn't for you. If you're looking for a casual local club with cheap drinks then the Welfare is where you should be. We had my Mum's 60th birthday party here and had a great night. The concert room is fairly old fashioned but with a bit of decoration it looks really good. We had the club arrange a buffet for the party and it was good, with a nice selection of foods all prepared well.
